Concept: Changing Seasons
The novel tells both a heart-warming yet sad tale of a horse’s journey throughout WWI. Despite Joey’s upbringing as a normal farmhouse, he wasn’t immune to the consequences of war as he faced happy, sad and tragic events. As the story grew bleak, so did the change of seasons as it first started out bright in the flourish countryside. It then turned dark within the battlefields of war and ends in a bittersweet note.
